Householders who have PV installed by a MCS registered company using only MCS accredited products, can claim an annual income, Feed in Tafiff (FIT) which is TAX FREE, from their electricity suppliers, backed by the Government, for 25 years from install. This is index linked, so as the price of fuel increases so does the FIT increase.
Each kWh generated earns 43.3p at present. This is called the generation tariff. For all surplus electricity generated and exported back to the national grid earns an extra 3.1p at present. This is called the export tariff.
This meaning that you can be saving a generous amount each day, as you will also be saving on the purchase price of fuel, that you would normally have to buy from your elecricity supplier.
Since April 2010 the FIT gaurantees an income for electricity generated at:
43.3p per kWh generated, plus 3.1p per kWh for each unit exported to the grid for systems smaller than 4 kWp
37.8p for 4 - 10 kW systems
32.9p for 10 - 100kW
30.7p for 100kW - 5MW and for stand alone systems.
